visual: Trying way too hard to look like a delinquent because he doesn't otherwise fit the mold. Dyes hair for this reason alone. Constantly fighting said unruly, fluffy hair by slicking it back in vain. Average in just about every way except for his intense blue eyes. His determined glare gives away his real age and experience.

aural: Voiced by Yuki Shin. Being trapped in a teenage body means teenage vocal chords. Not the deepest voice around, a bit gravelly when he gets emotional. Screams himself raw because he's forced to be his own hype man.

olfactory: Smells like bloody noses and body odor most days. Even as an adult, he's not the most hygienic guy around.

demeanor: Hunched and timid until provoked; then he's a fucking rock. Thus, he comes across as having two sides: the clueless dumbass and the fearless protector. He's a terrible actor and doesn't really know how to act like the kid he appears to be.

time leapingTakemichi is a timeleaper. He activates his ability by shaking the hand of someone who shares his intense desire to change a specific event in the past. His mind is then transported back in time and inhabits his past self. How many years back in time he travels depends on what he and his accomplice want to change, but he will always be transported to the same calendar day in the past as the day he shakes hands in the future. In order to return to the future, he has to find his accomplice in the past and shake their hand again. At that time, the future abruptly adjusts itself to whatever changes Takemichi made in the past. Both he and his accomplice retain their memories of prior timelines they've altered.

This ability is defunct in Expiation.

future visions More recently, he's also begun to see flashes of the future without actually timeleaping. By touching/being very close to a relevant object/person, he's hit by a vision of a potential bad end that he has to prevent. These visions rarely have any context to them, just to make his job that much more difficult.

Think: he sees that kick coming at his head a couple seconds before his opponent lifts their leg.

At 26 years old, Takemichi Hanagaki was pushed in front of an oncoming train. He died. The end. Or it would have been if it didn't happen in the first chapter of a manga about time travel. Instead of dying, he was transported back to his delinquency heyday and given the mission to manipulate the Tokyo Manji Gang of the past in order to save lives in the future. Because he's a shounen manga idiot, however, he can't just go back and murder Tokyo's nastiest crime lords while they're still babies. He has to befriend them all and save them too!

In other words, he's an adorable dumbass who just wants everyone to be happy because he's already watched them all die as adults like five times each and it's taking a toll on his sanity, okay? Okay.

physical violence Takemichi is a reckless delinquent who's eager to prove himself, so he's likely to accept most sparring requests and/or jump into dangerous battles without a plan. He gets into fist fights and gang brawls on the regular. He's not actually that experienced or powerful of a fighter though, which is why he's so often sporting injuries.

medical info Michi's physiology is 100% human. Nothing out of the ordinary, aside from two prominent scars. The first is the remnant of a knife wound through his left hand, the other of a bullet wound through his left foot.

mental info Though his body is seventeen years old, his mind is that of a twenty-seven year old. This is the result of his ability to timeleap. This ability also means he has knowledge of many different future timelines that no one else in his canon is privy to. Anyone rummaging through his memories would figure this out pretty quickly.
