[ It takes her about twenty minutes to make it from her door to the end of the row, as she carefully traverses the terrain to make sure she doesn't aggro any of the monsters hovering around the outskirts. She's probably safe to move at full speed, but knowing how much damage even a badaliscus can do, it's better safe than sorry. (At least she'll be able to smell one coming)
Once she reaches the edge of the door-lined "path", the blonde carefully rolls her neck. It's been a few days since their jailbreak, and while she wasn't in horrible shape, she still took a beating. And yet she seems to be doing much better than she should be at this point; her face looks perfectly normal, and any other wounds have either healed up or are covered by clothes.
When she sees Takemichi approach through the fog, Hibiki raises an arm (winces, lowers it slightly) and waves to him. ]
[Once he catches sight of her little wave, he rushes to close the distance, a goofy smile on his face.]
I'm so glad! You're looking good. [He exclaims without a lick of self awareness. He's just relieved that he doesn't see any big scars on her face.] C'mon. It's right over here.
[A wave of his arm guides her to his side as he leads her through the eerie maze of doors. Luckily, his door isn't far, and in no time at all, he's turning the knob. It opens to the front porch of an apartment building and overlooks a small, public playground, what would be a perfectly serene view if not for the post-apocalyptic atmosphere of neglect.
Takemichi stares at her pretty blatantly, trying to catch her reaction. The only other door he's seen is Mikey's, and he has no idea how his little playground compares.]
Uh, we can't go in the apartments, sorry. I tried. But we can hang out up here or on the swings or something.
[ Good, don't ask questions. She's not about to reveal some of what her soulmate can do, because while she trusts Takemichi to not use that information against them, she doesn't trust him not to accidentally spill. ]
I always look good, I don't know what you're talking about. [ She grins, this clearly being a joke.
Following behind him, the small blonde tries to make a note of where they are. It's hard, since all of the doors look exactly the same, but she can still count them in her head. It's a force of habit, a need to always be prepared with information in case she needs it.
When they arrive and he opens the door, Hibiki blinks owlishly. She wasn't sure what to expect, but... this looks like Tokyo. She may not know where, but it feels familiar, almost nostalgic. Stepping inside, she mutters a quiet 'pardon the intrusion' as she sets foot on the porch.
...Wow, this is making her feel a little homesick. ]
[He leads on, making sure to take the long way down the steps rather than hopping over the railing. Could Hibiki hop the railing? Probably. But he's more hospitable than that! He even dusts off one of the swings for her before plopping his ass down on the one next to it.
He'll at least wait for her to situate herself before signaling he's ready to listen, but when he does, he's not exactly tactful.]
So... [He frowns down at the dirt before meeting her eyes.] You okay?
[ Hibiki follows close behind, although she does wonder if it would be easier to vault over the railing before remembering that his friend doesn't have any powers. Takemichi might be the same.
A bemused smirk spreads on her lips as he dusts off the swing, bowing slightly as she takes a seat. She waits for him to settle in before saying anything? ]
Hmm? Oh yeah, I'm fine. I've always been able to bounce back pretty quick. [ Completely sidestepping the whole being healed by her soulmate thing. ] I'm pretty good at taking as good as I give.
I've actually got some questions about Mikey-san. And about you, if you don't mind.
[He's confused about why anyone would come to him about Mikey for all of two seconds before remembering exactly which Mikey they're talking about here. This is Mikey the scary crime boss who can't be found if he doesn't want to be. And somehow, miraculously, Hibiki managed to get close enough to him to see all of that, close enough to see beyond it.
It's obvious that she'd have questions!]
Oh. Oh!
[He sits up in his little swing, straightens out his back.]
Sure. I'll answer what I can, but... I guess it depends what you're asking.
[ Yes, Mikey. Because whether he realizes it or not, the man mentions Takemichi pretty frequently. It's clear that he means a lot to him, and if there is someone who might know what placed the older blond down such a dark path, it would probably be Takemichi.
Pulling her swing back, hands holding the chain, she doesn't lift her feet off the ground. Standing there, her gaze moves away from Takemichi, redirected skyward. A wistful smile on her face, the small blonde watches the clouds as they roll by. ]
...He used to be a lot happier, wasn't he?
[ Might as well get straight to the point. ]
